Sugar

Nearly twenty weeks now and the waistline is beginning to expand:

I don't know that this counts as an official-looking baby bump, but I'm sure starting to feel it.

I had my 20 week ultrasound today!  I love the ultrasound.  Highlight of the pregnancy for me (besides the birth) and the point when it all starts to feel "real".  Holy cow, there's a baby in there!
So here's a little run-down of how the ultrasound went today:
*You're supposed to have a full bladder for these ultrasounds, so I made sure to drink tons beforehand and felt like I was going to pee my pants by the time the ultrasound started.  As it turns out, my bladder wasn't full enough.  The baby just happened to be repeatedly kicking it.

*Instead of getting a babysitter, Garrett wanted to bring Kenners along for the experience.  Well, she couldn't have cared less and was a little hooligan most of the time, requiring Garrett to take her out of the room to cry out a few tantrums and causing the ultrasound tech. to get cranky and shoot darts through her eyes at us.  Next time, I think I'll just get the babysitter....

*The first thing we saw on the ultrasound screen was what appears to be a set of very poofy lips on the little baby.  Kenners is jealous.
*Sadly, that was one of the few "good" shots we got of this squirt, as the baby would not hold still for the entire hour.  Apparently I shouldn't have had sugar before the ultrasound.  Oops!  (again, a slightly annoyed ultrasound tech.  Sheesh!)  I guess sugar has the same effect on kids regardless of whether they're in-utero or three years old.....

*And speaking of sugar,
looks like we'll be having a little more of it, spice, and everything nice in our family because
it's a girl!  Poor Garrett is beginning to feel a little outnumbered, but hey, we're still super excited and very grateful that the baby is growing well and appears to be healthy.

Now starts the fun of picking out baby girl names
and preparing Kenners for no longer being THE princess around here....

I am so excited for you! Kristy and I were talking this week and wondered how soon you would find out the gender. Now we know! Hope all is going well.

YAY YAY YAY!!! I'm glad to hear it all looked good and that you're hopefully turning the corner on morning sickness! Congrats and we'll talk soon (maybe after our little princess comes :)

Goodness gracious, you must have BAD morning sickness 'cause you are so dang skinny! I think that you are skinnier than I am and I'm not even pregnant! :P

Well, congrats on having another girl! That's great and it sounds like she is doing well and is active. Where's the U/S pic?
