1) I am an extraordinarily blessed girl: I have an awesome husband, a beautiful and healthy baby girl, a testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ, food, shelter, a job, awesome family, and the list goes on and on and on. Really, my life rocks.
2) Sometimes I just need to VENT! About a month ago we put Kenadie on a new (and remember, nasty-smelling) formula after which she seemed much happier and sleep five nights in a row! I thought we had found our "cure". After those blissful five nights about a month ago, Kenadie has reverted. She thankfully doesn't scream all day long anymore, but she's still a fuss and wakes up at least 5-6 times a night crying (and folks, I wouldn't call her cry "pretty". It's so shrilly!) We tried a few weeks of letting her "cry it out" in her crib at night. Sometimes after an hour of crying, she falls asleep only to wake up 20 minutes later crying and start the cycle all over again. Most of the times she cries for HOURS and never falls asleep. A few nights I have used ear plugs to get a little sleep, but I feel so bad just letting her cry and cry for hours (not to mention, I'm sure our neighbors hate us).
The pediatrician's solution? Put Kenadie on another new formula, which was crap and did diddly-squat! I guess there is just no simple solution to this girl's issues!
I promise my life includes things other than Kenadie's issues. She's as cute as a button and I love her to death. Like I said in my previous post, motherhood really is the best. Somehow, though, sleep is all you crave and think of to write about at 3am. I guess at least I had those five blissful nights where I got a taste of what it would be like to have a child that sleeps. And now that we're back to square one, I guess at least these wee hours of the morning afford me some time to write on my silly blog and learn all about the garbage being sold via infomercials (I've feeling a little inspired to try Turbo Jam now!).

Hey Holly! Sounds pretty rough, hun! I hope things get better soon. I know I'm not a mom but I do know several moms who have been in your shoes. This sounds crazy, I know, but two of them took their baby to the chiropractor and the chiropractor told them their baby's spine was a little off from the birthing process. All he did was some little massages down the back of their spine and around their shoulders and told them to come back in 3 days. After three visits, it was like having a completely different child and they started sleeping through the night. I don't know if that's something you would be willing to even try, but I thought I'd put it out there for ya. Hope it gets better! Love ya, Vi
Thanks, Vi. :) You're so sweet. I feel awfully bad ever complaining on here......Garrett is actually in chiropractic school and three different chiropractors have seen her almost weekly since she was born, and she DOES have issues with her neck because she also came out "crooked". Alas, the adjustments haven't helped so far, but I'm still optimistic that soon we'll start to see some positive results from the adjustments!! But no matter what, she's still a doll and I love being her mom!
You're such a sweetheart, I never think you're complaining! I can't even imagine how frustrating it would get at times because you want her to be happy and YOU need to sleep! Well, I didn't realize your husband is in Chiropractic school...now I feel kinda silly even mentioning it at all...oops. Anyway, hope it's just a "phase" then? :( Love you!
