Compensation

Sometimes the wind in Palmer blows harder than a category 3 hurricane.
Sometimes we get freezing rain that turns our roads into ice rinks.
And sometimes (December and January) our days are really short.

It's not always easy living in Alaska in the winter
but
we do get quite a few glorious sunny days in the winter
and our sunrises and sunsets really can't be beat.

I snapped this little beauty while I was on my way to take Kenadie to school the other day:

Every day that week had an equally beautiful sunrise and sunset.
So, at least Alaska gives us something awesome during the deep freeze of winter. :)
