The two people I love the most:
Lucky for me, I live with both of them! One of them (guess who) I spend lots and lots of time with, and it's a blast. But the other (guess who), I don't see all that often these days. So last night, it was time for us to finally go out. on a date. just the two of us. Woohoo! One of Garrett's classmates came and babysat Kenadie and we got to just take off! We had dinner at Outback Steakhouse (I had never been before) and it was delish! (Ya know my last post about eating and cooking healthier? Well, we figured it didn't have to apply to eating out, especially since eating out happens a few times a year, right!?) And after dinner, we took some (very nice) skates that our friends let us borrow and found a huge outdoor ice rink nearby and went ice skating! (I think there are more ice rinks in this area than gas stations. They're everywhere!) The ice rink we found to skate on was completely empty, so we had this huge ice rink in the middle of a wooded park all to ourselves. So much fun! Garrett and I, however, are not expert ice skaters. In fact, I think I nearly biffed it like 18 times and now muscles are sore that I didn't even know existed! But like I said, we had a blast! And it was so, so, so nice to have that time together to talk as we wobbled around the skating rink (and nearly froze to death--thank you Minnesota!). Definitely a perfect evening out.
Oh, and THE BEST part was coming home to a baby who had been fed, bathed, and put to sleep already!! That in and of itself is reason to get a babysitter and go on a date!
Happy Valentine's Day to ALL the people in my life that I love, but especially to my eternal sweetheart. Love you, Gar!
And here is Garrett being Garrett:
He's so weird. Love him all he same!
And here's me, trying to find my balance:
